Remotely Producing Video – It Can Be Done

All businesses are facing challenging times as the economic impact of the pandemic. And when faced with challenges like this, it's time to prepare your business for the long haul. In other words, we need to work smarter, and be ready to tackle the challenges ahead.

In an effort to be proactive, we want to share how we can continue to create videos for your business, remotely, so you can continue to communicate effectively to your employees and customers.

Why? Because video is a versatile and engaging content format that not only gives you a real-life picture of what is going on; it’s also easy to share across multiple platforms. Your audience likes it because it’s easy to digest, entertaining and engaging, and businesses like it because it can give a potentially huge return on investment (ROI) through many channels.

We understand gathering footage is the most difficult, especially with social distancing, but by planning ahead it can be done.

Ways we can capture footage remotely are;

  • Screen Captures

  • Screen Recordings

  • Screen Shots

  • Use of Stock Video

  • Use of current assets you may have such as, other video, photographs and existing graphics. Even recordings from smart phones can be used.

Once we have the footage we will remotely edit and work with you using remote tools to develop the desired outcome for you video. We will discuss clearly defined editing goals that can easily be accomplished to get your message out there on all the channels you desire.

Things we consider;

Removing unwanted footage

This is the simplest and most common task in editing. Many videos can be dramatically improved by simply getting rid of the flawed or unwanted bits.

Choosing the best footage

It is common to us to shoot far more footage than is actually needed and choose only the best material for the final edit. Often we will shoot a few versions (takes) of a shot and choose the best one when editing.

Creating a flow

Most videos serve a purpose such as telling a story or providing information. Editing is a crucial step in making sure the video flows in a way which achieves this goal.

Adding effects, graphics, music, etc.

This is often the "wow" part of editing. We can improve most videos (and have a lot of fun) by adding extra elements.

Altering the style, pace or mood of the video

As professional editors, we will be able to create subtle mood prompts in a video. Techniques such as mood music and visual effects can influence how the audience will react.

Giving the video a particular "angle"

Video can be tailored to support a particular viewpoint, impart a message or serve an agenda.

In conclusion video is one of the most popular content forms of communicating your products and services. And, it makes sense: in an impersonal digital world, your audience is craving connection and personality. We want to see and hear people in a real-life context -- it’s meaningful.
